In Pakistan literacy rate is about 45% and there is dire need to increase literacy rate therefore government of Punjab thought to establish independent board in Sahiwal region also. BISE Sahiwal was established on 15.June.2012 by Higher Education Department of Punjab (HED). Before its establishment they were under BISE Multan. Its main purpose is to provide quality education to students to boost up their spirits and potentials. It provides facility to students to find their destiny and aims easily by progressing in the field of science and technology. Sahiwal city is densely populated area. The main purpose is to conduct examination of both SSC and HSSC examination. They also provide fair-play atmosphere and fair marking of examination that boost up potentials of students to achieve maximum results neglecting favoritism.
Jurisdiction of the board consists of Okara District, Sahiwal District and Vehari District. These are areas where schools and colleges are affiliated with board and examinations are conducted. Many government and private institutions are affiliated with the board teachers appointed there are highly trained and for them seminars and workshops are conducted to train them to make students appear in examinations.

BISE Sahiwal opens admissions for Matriculation and Intermediate approximately 1 month before the commencement of exams. Several numbers of students participate every year. Exams of Matriculation of are held in the month of March and April and result is announced in July, for Intermediate timings are some different in terms of exams they are held in month of May and June while result is announced in end of August of September every year. It also offers PEEF Scholarships for their students to appreciate their potentials. Admission forms are made available at affiliated institutions and also they are available online where students can fill and submit them easily.

Groups of education at matriculation level are some different from intermediate level at matriculation they are science and arts and at intermediate they are pre-medical, pre engineering, commerce,computer science, general science and arts. Past papers and models papers are also provided. Affiliated institutions work within parameters provided by the board languages in which syllabus is taught and examination conducted are Urdu, English some subjects in local dialect and classical languages. Result is announced after 3 months therefore students are made to wait but marking is done with fair policy.
